What happens to my property if I don't have a Will?

Dying "intestate" means dying without a valid will. In this case the assets of a person who dies are distributed to persons specifically dictated by State Law, not necessarily how you would distribute those assets. Not planning ahead can definitely result in probate costs, additional attorney's fees, and higher estate taxes for your family members. Remember, every dollar that goes to pay probate costs is a dollar that could benefit your family.
